1 ¶ David convoqua à Jérusalem tous les chefs d’Israël, les chefs des tribus, les chefs des divisions au service du roi, les chefs de milliers et les chefs de centaines, ceux qui étaient en charge sur tous les biens et les troupeaux du roi et auprès de ses fils, les eunuques, les héros et tous les hommes vaillants.
28:1-29:20
Au cours de sa dernière assemblée, le roi David chargea Salomon et le peuple de construire un temple à la gloire de Dieu. Ces derniers ch. font la transition entre David et Salomon. L’auteur ne mentionne ni la conspiration d’Adonija (#1R 1:5-9) ni la faiblesse de David (#1R 1:1-4), mais se concentre sur les contributions positives de son règne.
2 Le roi David se leva sur ses pieds, et dit : Écoutez-moi, mes frères et mon peuple ! J’avais l’intention de bâtir une maison de repos pour l’arche de l’alliance de l’Éternel et pour le marchepied de notre Dieu, et je me préparais à bâtir.
28:2-8
Pour le profit de l’assemblée, David témoigna de l’alliance davidique qui lui avait, à l’origine, été donnée par Dieu en #2S 7 (cf. #1Ch 17:7-27 ; #1Ch 22:6-16). Il affirma clairement que Salomon avait été choisi par Dieu (v. #1Ch 28:5), comme sa manière d’agir avait pu le laisser entendre (cf. #2S 12:24-25 ; #1R 1:13). De même, Christ serait le Fils choisi par Dieu pour accomplir finalement la promesse du royaume.
3 Mais Dieu m’a dit : Tu ne bâtiras pas une maison à mon nom, car tu es un homme de guerre et tu as versé du sang.
4 L’Éternel, le Dieu d’Israël, m’a choisi dans toute la maison de mon père, pour que je fusse roi d’Israël à toujours ; car il a choisi Juda pour chef, il a choisi la maison de mon père dans la maison de Juda, et parmi les fils de mon père c’est moi qu’il a voulu faire régner sur tout Israël.
5 Entre tous mes fils-car l’Éternel m’a donné beaucoup de fils-il a choisi mon fils Salomon pour le faire asseoir sur le trône du royaume de l’Éternel, sur Israël.
6 Il m’a dit : Salomon, ton fils, bâtira ma maison et mes parvis ; car je l’ai choisi pour mon fils, et je serai pour lui un père.
7 J’affermirai pour toujours son royaume, s’il reste attaché comme aujourd’hui à la pratique de mes commandements et de mes ordonnances.
8 Maintenant, aux yeux de tout Israël, de l’assemblée de l’Éternel, et en présence de notre Dieu qui vous entend, observez et prenez à cœur tous les commandements de l’Éternel, votre Dieu, afin que vous possédiez ce bon pays et que vous le laissiez en héritage à vos fils après vous à perpétuité.

9 Et toi, Salomon, mon fils, connais le Dieu de ton père, et sers-le d’un cœur dévoué et d’une âme bien disposée, car l’Éternel sonde tous les cœurs et pénètre tous les desseins et toutes les pensées. Si tu le cherches, il se laissera trouver par toi ; mais si tu l’abandonnes, il te rejettera pour toujours.
28:9-21
Dans son message à Salomon, David releva quatre points:
1° la consécration spirituelle (vv. #1Ch 28:9-10);
2° l’exécution architecturale (vv. #1Ch 28:11-19);
3° l’intervention divine (v. #1Ch 28:20);
4° la participation humaine (v. #1Ch 28:21).

10 Considère maintenant que l’Éternel t’a choisi, afin que tu bâtisses une maison qui serve de sanctuaire. Fortifie-toi et agis.
11 ¶ David donna à Salomon, son fils, le modèle du portique et des bâtiments, des chambres du trésor, des chambres hautes, des chambres intérieures, et de la chambre du propitiatoire.
12 Il lui donna le plan de tout ce qu’il avait dans l’esprit touchant les parvis de la maison de l’Éternel, et toutes les chambres à l’entour pour les trésors de la maison de Dieu et les trésors du sanctuaire,
13 et touchant les classes des sacrificateurs et des Lévites, tout ce qui concernait le service de la maison de l’Éternel, et tous les ustensiles pour le service de la maison de l’Éternel.
14 Il lui donna le modèle des ustensiles d’or, avec le poids de ce qui devait être d’or, pour tous les ustensiles de chaque service ; et le modèle de tous les ustensiles d’argent, avec le poids, pour tous les ustensiles de chaque service.
15 Il donna le poids des chandeliers d’or et de leurs lampes d’or, avec le poids de chaque chandelier et de ses lampes ; et le poids des chandeliers d’argent, avec le poids de chaque chandelier et de ses lampes, selon l’usage de chaque chandelier.
16 Il lui donna l’or au poids pour les tables des pains de proposition, pour chaque table ; et de l’argent pour les tables d’argent.
17 Il lui donna le modèle des fourchettes, des bassins et des calices d’or pur ; le modèle des coupes d’or, avec le poids de chaque coupe, et des coupes d’argent, avec le poids de chaque coupe ;
18 et le modèle de l’autel des parfums en or épuré, avec le poids. Il lui donna encore le modèle du char, des chérubins d’or qui étendent leurs ailes et couvrent l’arche de l’alliance de l’Éternel.
du char. Conformément à l’image du #Ps 18: 11, les chérubins sont décrits comme le véhicule avec lequel Dieu se déplace.
19 C’est par un écrit de sa main, dit David, que l’Éternel m’a donné l’intelligence de tout cela, de tous les ouvrages de ce modèle.
un écrit. C’était sous l’inspiration du Saint-Esprit que David avait établi les plans du temple (une révélation écrite non canonique). Ce privilège divin rappelait le cas de Moïse et du tabernacle (#Ex 25:9, #Ex 25:40 ; #Ex 27:8 ; #Hé 8:5).
20 David dit à Salomon, son fils: Fortifie-toi, prends courage et agis ; ne crains point, et ne t’effraie point. Car l’Éternel Dieu, mon Dieu, sera avec toi ; il ne te délaissera point, il ne t’abandonnera point, jusqu’à ce que tout l’ouvrage pour le service de la maison de l’Éternel soit achevé.
28:20-21
Les associés de Salomon dans ce projet de construction, c’étaient Dieu, qui était le propriétaire et l’entrepreneur général (v. #1Ch 28:20), et la main-d’œuvre humaine (v. #1Ch 28:21).

1 ¶ David summoned all the chiefs of Israel, the chiefs of the tribes, the chiefs of the divisions in the king's service, the chiefs of thousands, and the captains of hundreds, all who were in charge of all the possessions and herds of the King and his sons, the eunuchs, the heroes, and all the valiant men.
28: 1-29: 20
During his last assembly, King David instructed Solomon and the people to build a temple to the glory of God. These latter ch. Make the transition between David and Solomon. The author does not mention the conspiracy of Adonija (# 1R 1: 5-9) nor the weakness of David (# 1R 1: 1-4), but focuses on the positive contributions of his reign.
2 King David stood on his feet, and said, Hear me, my brethren, and my people. I intended to build a resting-place for the ark of the covenant of the Lord and for the footstool of our God, and I was preparing to build.
28: 2-8
For the benefit of the congregation, David testified of the Davidic covenant which had originally been given to him by God in # 2S7 (cf # 1Ch 17: 7-27; # 1Ch 22: 6-16 ). He clearly stated that Solomon had been chosen by God (v. # 1Ch 28: 5), as his manner of acting might have suggested (see # 2S 12: 24-25; # 1R 1:13). Similarly, Christ would be the Son chosen by God to finally fulfill the promise of the kingdom.
3 But God said unto me, Thou shalt not build a house for my name: for thou art a man of war, and shed blood.
4 The LORD God of Israel chose me in all my father's house, that I might be king of Israel forever; For he chose Judah as his ruler; he chose my father's house in the house of Judah; and among the sons of my father, it was I that he willed to reign over all Israel.
5 Between all my sons, for Jehovah hath given me many sons, he hath chosen my son Solomon to make him sit on the throne of the kingdom of the LORD over Israel.
6 He said to me, Solomon thy son shall build my house and my courts; For I have chosen him for my son, and I will be his father.
7 I will establish his kingdom forever, if he remains as attached to the practice of my commandments and ordinances.
8 Now in the eyes of all Israel, of the congregation of the LORD, and in the presence of our God who hears you, observe and take to heart all the commandments of the Lord your God that you may possess this good And leave it as an inheritance to your sons after you in perpetuity.

9 And thou, Solomon my son, know the God of thy father, and serve him with a devoted heart and a well-disposed soul: for the Lord searcheth all hearts, and perfects all designs and thoughts . If you seek him, he will be found by you; But if thou forsake him, he shall reject thee for ever.
28: 9-21
In his message to Solomon David pointed out four points:
1 ° the spiritual consecration (vv. 1Ch 28: 9-10);
(2) architectural execution (vv. # 1Ch 28: 11-19);
(3) the divine intervention (v. # 1Ch 28:20);
4 ° human participation (see # 1Ch 28:21).

10 Now consider that the LORD has chosen you, that you may build a house that is a sanctuary. Strengthen and act.
11 ¶ David gave Solomon his son the model of the porch and the buildings, and the chambers of the treasury, and the high chambers, and the inner chambers, and the chamber of the mercy-seat.
12 And he gave him the plan of all that was in his mind concerning the courts of the house of the LORD, and all the chambers round about for the treasures of the house of God, and the treasures of the sanctuary,
13 And concerning the priests and the Levites, all that concerning the service of the house of the LORD, and all the vessels for the service of the house of the LORD.
14 And he gave him the model of the vessels of gold, with the weight of that which was to be of gold, for all the vessels of every service; And the pattern of all the silver vessels, with the weight, for all the utensils of every service.
15 He gave the weight of the candlesticks of gold and their lamps of gold, with the weight of each candlestick and its lamps; And the weight of the candlesticks of silver, with the weight of each candlestick and its lamps, according to the use of each candlestick.
16 And he gave him the weight of gold for the tables of the shewbread for every table; And money for the tables of money.
17 He gave him the model of forks, ponds, and chalices of pure gold; The model of the golden bowls, with the weight of each cup, and the silver bowls, with the weight of each cup;
18 and the model of the altar of perfume in purified gold, with weight. And he gave him the model of the chariot, of the golden cherubim, which stretched out their wings, and covered the ark of the covenant of the LORD.
Of the tank. According to the image of #Ps 18:11, cherubs are described as the vehicle with which God moves.
19 It is written by his hand, says David, that the LORD hath given me understanding of all this work.
A writing. It was under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit that David had established the plans of the temple (a non-canonical written revelation). This divine privilege recalled the case of Moses and the tabernacle (#Ex 25: 9, #Ex 25:40; #Ex 27: 8; # Hebrews 8: 5).
20 And David said to Solomon his son, Be strong, and take courage and do good; Fear not, and be not afraid. For the LORD God my God shall be with thee; He shall not leave thee, neither shall he forsake thee, until all the work for the service of the house of the LORD is finished.
28: 20-21
Solomon's associates in this construction project were God, who was the owner and general contractor (v. # 1Ch 28:20), and human labor (v. # 1Chronicles 28:21 ).
