ÉZÉKIEL 28 : 20 À 26 ***
20 ¶ La parole de l’Eternel me fut adressée, en ces mots:
21 Fils de l’homme, tourne ta face vers Sidon, Et prophétise contre elle !
22 Tu diras : Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l’Eternel : Voici, j’en veux à toi, Sidon ! Je serai glorifié au milieu de toi ; Et ils sauront que je suis l’Eternel, Quand j’exercerai mes jugements contre elle, Quand je manifesterai ma sainteté au milieu d’elle.
23 J’enverrai la peste dans son sein, Je ferai couler le sang dans ses rues ; Les morts tomberont au milieu d’elle Par l’épée qui de toutes parts viendra la frapper. Et ils sauront que je suis l’Eternel.
24 Alors elle ne sera plus pour la maison d’Israël Une épine qui blesse, une ronce déchirante, Parmi tous ceux qui l’entourent et qui la méprisent. Et ils sauront que je suis le Seigneur, l’Eternel.
25 Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l’Eternel : Lorsque je rassemblerai la maison d’Israël du milieu des peuples où elle est dispersée, je manifesterai en elle ma sainteté aux yeux des nations, et ils habiteront leur pays que j’ai donné à mon serviteur Jacob.
26 Ils y habiteront en sécurité, et ils bâtiront des maisons et planteront des vignes ; ils y habiteront en sécurité, quand j’exercerai mes jugements contre tous ceux qui les entourent et qui les méprisent. Et ils sauront que je suis l’Eternel, leur Dieu.

Sidon. Sidon (vv. #Ez 28:20-24) était la ville portuaire sœur de Tyr, à près de 40 km au nord. Elle exerçait une influence corruptrice à l’époque des juges déjà (#Jug 10:6), étant le centre du culte de Baal.
28:22-23
mes jugements contre elle. Dieu promit qu’il amènerait un bain de sang et la peste sur ce peuple, probablement à la même époque qu’une invasion lancée contre Tyr.
28:24
ne sera plus … une épine qui blesse. Ce v. résume les scénarios de jugement révélés (ch. #Ez 25:1-28:@): les ennemis d’Israël subiraient de telles dévastations qu’ils
1° n’auraient plus la possibilité de harceler Israël et
2° comprendraient que celui qui les jugeait était le vrai Dieu, le Dieu d’Israël.
28:25-26
Lorsque je rassemblerai. Dans ce bref excursus marqué par l’espoir, Dieu promit de restaurer Israël en le ramenant sur sa terre (cf. ch. #Ez 34, #Ez 36:1-39:@ ; #Esa 65:21 ; #Jér 30:1-33:@ ; #Am 9:14-15). C’est le royaume terrestre du Messie qui est en vue ici.

20 ¶ The word of the LORD came unto me , saying :
21 Son of man , set your face toward Sidon , and prophesy against it !
22 And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD : Behold, I am against you , Sidon ! I will be glorified in the midst of thee: and they shall know that I am the LORD , when I shall execute judgments against it , when I manifest my holiness in her midst .
23 I will send pestilence into her , I will shed blood in the streets , the slain shall fall in the midst of her by the sword on every side hit . And they shall know that I am the LORD.
24 So it will not be for the house of Israel a hurting thorn , a pricking brier Among all those around them, that despised . And they shall know that I am the Lord Jehovah .
25 Thus saith the Lord Jehovah : When I shall have gathered the house of Israel from the peoples among whom they are scattered, I will show it in my holiness before the heathen , and they shall dwell in their land that I gave to my servant Jacob .
26 And they shall dwell safely therein , and shall build houses , and plant vineyards , and they shall dwell securely , when I execute judgments against all those around them who despise them . And they shall know that I am the LORD their God.

Sidon . Sidon (vv. # Ez 28:20-24 ) was the sister port city of Tyre, about 40 miles north . She exercised a corrupting influence at the time of the judges already (# Jug 10:6 ) , being the center of worship of Baal.
28:22-23
judgments against it . God promised that he would bring bloodshed and pestilence upon this people , probably at the same time launched an invasion against Tyre.
28:24
will no longer be ... a hurting thorn . This v . summarizes the scenarios proved judgment (ch. # Ez 25:1-28 : @ ) : Israel's enemies suffer such devastation they
1 would no longer be able to harass Israel and
2 understand that whoever thought was the true God , the God of Israel.
28:25-26
When I gather . In this brief excursus marked by hope, God promised to restore Israel by bringing on his land ( cf. Ez # 34 , # Ez 36:1-39 . @ , # Isa 65:21 , Jer # 30 : 1-33 : @ , # Am 9:14-15 ) . This is the earthly kingdom of the Messiah who is seen here.
