ÉZÉKIEL 33 : 30 À 33 ***
30 ¶ Et toi, fils de l’homme, les enfants de ton peuple s’entretiennent de toi près des murs et aux portes des maisons, et ils se disent l’un à l’autre, chacun à son frère : Venez donc, et écoutez quelle est la parole qui est procédée de l’Eternel !
31 Et ils se rendent en foule auprès de toi, et mon peuple s’assied devant toi ; ils écoutent tes paroles, mais ils ne les mettent point en pratique, car leur bouche en fait un sujet de moquerie, et leur cœur se livre à la cupidité.
32 Voici, tu es pour eux comme un chanteur agréable, possédant une belle voix, et habile dans la musique. Ils écoutent tes paroles, mais ils ne les mettent point en pratique.
33 Quand ces choses arriveront, — et voici, elles arrivent ! — ils sauront qu’il y avait un prophète au milieu d’eux.

33:30-33 Message adressé aux exilés qui n’avaient pas l’intention d’obéir au prophète. S’ils étaient disposés à l’écouter, ils n’appliquaient pas ses paroles. Ils devraient, en fin de compte, apprendre par d’amères expériences qu’il leur transmettait la vérité venue de Dieu. Le peuple appréciait l’éloquence d’Ezéchiel mais n’accordait aucun crédit au fond de son message.

30 ¶ And thou, son of man, the children of thy people still are talking against thee by the walls and doors of the houses, and speak one to another, every one to his brother : Come , and hear what is the word that cometh forth from the LORD !
31 And they come unto thee in crowds , and my people sit before you and they hear thy words, but they do not do them in practice because their mouth is a mockery , and their heart engages in greed.
32 Behold, thou art unto them as a very lovely song , with a beautiful voice, and skilled in music. They hear thy words , but they do not put them into practice .
33 When these things happen, - and here they come! - Shall they know that a prophet has been among them.

33:30-33 Message exiles who do not intend to obey the prophet. If they were willing to listen, they did not apply his words. They should , ultimately , learn by bitter experience that conveyed the truth from God . The people appreciated the eloquence of Ezekiel but gave no credit to the bottom of the message.
