ÉZÉKIEL 37 : 1 À 10 ***
1 ¶ La main de l’Eternel fut sur moi, et l’Eternel me transporta en esprit, et me déposa dans le milieu d’une vallée remplie d’ossements.
2 Il me fit passer auprès d’eux, tout autour ; et voici, ils étaient fort nombreux, à la surface de la vallée, et ils étaient complètement secs.
3 Il me dit : Fils de l’homme, ces os pourront-ils revivre ? Je répondis : Seigneur Eternel, tu le sais.
4 Il me dit : Prophétise sur ces os, et dis-leur : Ossements desséchés, écoutez la parole de l’Eternel !
5 Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l’Eternel, à ces os : Voici, je vais faire entrer en vous un esprit, et vous vivrez ;
6 je vous donnerai des nerfs, je ferai croître sur vous de la chair, je vous couvrirai de peau, je mettrai en vous un esprit, et vous vivrez. Et vous saurez que je suis l’Eternel.
7 Je prophétisai, selon l’ordre que j’avais reçu. Et comme je prophétisais, il y eut un bruit, et voici, il se fit un mouvement, et les os s’approchèrent les uns des autres.
8 Je regardai, et voici, il leur vint des nerfs, la chair crût, et la peau les couvrit par-dessus ; mais il n’y avait point en eux d’esprit.
9 Il me dit : Prophétise, et parle à l’esprit ! prophétise, fils de l’homme, et dis à l’esprit : Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l’Eternel : Esprit, viens des quatre vents, souffle sur ces morts, et qu’ils revivent !
10 Je prophétisai, selon l’ordre qu’il m’avait donné. Et l’esprit entra en eux, et ils reprirent vie, et ils se tinrent sur leurs pieds : c’était une armée nombreuse, très nombreuse.

37:1
me transporta par son Esprit. Les vv. #Ez 37:1-14 renvoient à une autre vision. Dieu ne changea pas Ezéchiel de place, mais il lui donna le sentiment intérieur d’avoir été amené dans « une vallée remplie d’ossements ». (Pour d’autres visions, cf. #Ez 1:1-3:15, #Ez 8:1-11: 24, #Ez 40:1-48:35.) Ce passage fait partie d’une série de révélations reçues pendant la nuit précédant l’arrivée de l’homme qui annonça la destruction de Jérusalem. Il était destiné à soulager la tristesse du peuple.
le milieu d’une vallée. Représentation du territoire sur lequel Israël était dispersé (cf. v. #Ez 37:12).
37:2
complètement secs. Illustration d’une nation morte, sans vie, éparpillée et blanchie comme les os, similaire à celle d’un arbre sec (#Ez 17: 24). Seul Dieu pouvait lui rendre la vie.
37:3
ces os … revivre. Les nombreux os secs (v. #Ez 37:2) désignaient la nation d’Israël (v. #Ez 37:11): apparemment morte du fait de sa dispersion, elle était dans l’attente d’une résurrection au plan national. Les Israélites devaient avoir une certaine connaissance de la doctrine de la résurrection individuelle, sinon cette prophétie n’aurait eu aucun sens (cf. #1R 17 ; #2R 4 ; #2R 13:21 ; #Esa 25:8 ; #Esa 26:19 ; #Da 12:2 ; #Os 13: 14).
37:4-6
Prophétise sur ces os. Ezéchiel dut proclamer l’engagement pris par Dieu de rassembler les Juifs, où qu’ils soient dans le monde, et de restaurer la nation d’Israël en la ramenant à la vie (v. #Ez 37:5) et en lui donnant son Esprit (v. #Ez 37:14), pour un salut authentique et une vraie vie spirituelle. Il est clair que Dieu promettait la résurrection de la nation d’Israël et sa régénération spirituelle (cf. #Ez 36:25-27).
37:7-10 Dans sa vision, Ezéchiel exécuta l’ordre reçu, et grâce à cela les os desséchés devinrent une nation en pleine vie (v. #Ez 37:10).

¶ 1 The hand of the LORD was upon me, and the Lord brought me in spirit, and set me down in the middle of a valley full of bones .
2 He led me to pass by them round about: and, behold, they were very many in the open valley , and they were completely dry.
3 He said to me : Son of man , can these bones live? I answered, O Lord GOD, thou knowest.
4 He said to me , Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones , hear the word of the LORD !
5 Thus saith the Lord GOD to these bones : Behold, I will bring into you , and ye shall live ;
6 I will give you nerves, I'll grow on you flesh , and cover you with skin, and put breath in you , and ye shall live . And you know that I am the LORD.
7 So I prophesied according to the order I received . And as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold a shaking , and the bones came together.
8 I looked, and behold, there were sinews on them , and flesh came up , and skin covered them above: but there was no breath in them .
9 He said to me , Prophesy to the spirit ! prophesy, son of man, and say to the wind, Thus saith the Lord GOD : Come from the four winds, breathe upon these slain , that they may live !
10 I prophesied as he commanded me . And the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army .

carried me through His Spirit . Vv. # Ez 37:1-14 refer to another vision. God does not change Ezekiel space, but he gave him the inner feeling of being brought into " a valley full of bones ." (For other views , see # Ez 1:1-3:15 , # Ez 8:1-11 . . 24 , # Eze 40:1-48:35 ) This passage is part of a series of revelations received during the night before the arrival of the man who announced the destruction of Jerusalem . It was intended to relieve the sadness of the people.
the middle of a valley . Representation of the territory on which Israel was dispersed (cf. c. # Ez 37:12 ) .
37:2
completely dry. Illustration of a dead nation , lifeless, scattered and bleached like bones, similar to a dry tree (# Ez 17: 24). Only God could make his life .
37:3
these bones ... relive . Many dry bones ( Ezekiel 37:2 v. # ) designated the nation of Israel (v. # Ez 37:11 ) apparently died because of its dispersion , she was waiting for a resurrection at the national level . The Israelites must have some knowledge of the doctrine of individual resurrection , otherwise this prophecy would have had no meaning (cf. 1R # 17; # 2R 4; # 2R 1:21 p.m. ; # Esa 25:8 ; Esa # 26 : 19; # Da 12:2; Bone # 13: 14).
37:4-6
Prophesy upon these bones . Ezekiel had to proclaim God 's commitment to gather the Jews wherever they are in the world, and restore the nation of Israel by bringing it to life ( cf. Ez 37:5 # ) and giving it his Spirit (cf. Ez 37:14 # ) for an authentic salvation and true spiritual life. It is clear that God promised the resurrection of the nation of Israel and its spiritual regeneration (cf. Ez 36:25-27 # ) .
37:7-10 In his vision , Ezekiel obeyed the order received , and thanks to that the dry bones became a nation full of life (v. # Ez 37:10 ) .
