ÉZÉKIEL 37 : 11 À 23 ***
11 Il me dit : Fils de l’homme, ces os, c’est toute la maison d’Israël. Voici, ils disent : Nos os sont desséchés, notre espérance est détruite, nous sommes perdus !
12 Prophétise donc, et dis-leur : Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l’Eternel : Voici, j’ouvrirai vos sépulcres, je vous ferai sortir de vos sépulcres, ô mon peuple, et je vous ramènerai dans le pays d’Israël.
13 Et vous saurez que je suis l’Eternel, lorsque j’ouvrirai vos sépulcres, et que je vous ferai sortir de vos sépulcres, ô mon peuple !
14 Je mettrai mon esprit en vous, et vous vivrez ; je vous rétablirai dans votre pays, et vous saurez que moi, l’Eternel, j’ai parlé et agi, dit l’Eternel.
15 ¶ La parole de l’Eternel me fut adressée, en ces mots:
16 Et toi, fils de l’homme, prends une pièce de bois, et écris dessus : Pour Juda et pour les enfants d’Israël qui lui sont associés. Prends une autre pièce de bois, et écris dessus : Pour Joseph, bois d’Ephraïm et de toute la maison d’Israël qui lui est associée.
17 Rapproche-les l’une et l’autre pour en former une seule pièce, en sorte qu’elles soient unies dans ta main.
18 Et lorsque les enfants de ton peuple te diront : Ne nous expliqueras-tu pas ce que cela signifie ?
19 réponds-leur : Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l’Eternel : Voici, je prendrai le bois de Joseph qui est dans la main d’Ephraïm, et les tribus d’Israël qui lui sont associées ; je les joindrai au bois de Juda, et j’en formerai un seul bois, en sorte qu’ils ne soient qu’un dans ma main.
20 Les bois sur lesquels tu écriras seront dans ta main, sous leurs yeux.
21 Et tu leur diras : Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l’Eternel : Voici, je prendrai les enfants d’Israël du milieu des nations où ils sont allés, je les rassemblerai de toutes parts, et je les ramènerai dans leur pays.
22 Je ferai d’eux une seule nation dans le pays, dans les montagnes d’Israël ; ils auront tous un même roi, ils ne formeront plus deux nations, et ne seront plus divisés en deux royaumes.
23 Ils ne se souilleront plus par leurs idoles, par leurs abominations, et par toutes leurs transgressions ; je les retirerai de tous les lieux qu’ils ont habités et où ils ont péché, et je les purifierai ; ils seront mon peuple, et je serai leur Dieu.

37:11-13 C’est la clé de l’interprétation de la vision: elle concernait la résurrection et le salut d’Israël.

j’ai parlé et agi. C’est la réputation de Dieu qui est en jeu dans le retour d’Israël sur sa terre et sa régénération. Dieu doit accomplir ce qu’il a promis afin que tous sachent qu’il est le Seigneur.
37:15-23 Après la vision, Ezéchiel eut pour instruction de présenter une illustration par l’objet à ses compatriotes (vv. #Ez 37:18-20). L’union des deux baguettes ainsi mise en scène offrait une nouvelle illustration de la volonté divine: Dieu ne se contentera pas de rassembler Israël sur sa terre, mais, pour la première fois depuis 931 av. J.-C. (fin du règne de Salomon, #1R 11:26-40), il réunira Israël et Juda (vv. #Ez 37:19, #Ez 37:21-22), et ce dans le royaume messianique (cf. #Esa 11:12-13 ; #Jér 3:18 ; #Os 2:2).
37:21-23 Dieu donna trois promesses qui résumaient ses projets pour Israël:
1° restauration (v. #Ez 37:21);
2° unification (v. #Ez 37:22);
3° purification (v. #Ez 37:23).
Ces promesses permettent respectivement l’accomplissement de:
1° l’alliance abrahamique (cf. #Ge 12);
2° l’alliance davidique (#2S 7);
3° la nouvelle alliance (cf. #Jér 31).
37:22
un même roi. Ce chef (cf. vv. #Ez 37:24-25) est le Messie, roi et berger souvent promis à la dynastie davidique (#Ez 34:23-24 ; #Jér 23:5-8 ; #Jér 30:9 ; #Da 2:35, #Da 2:45 ; #Da 7:13-14, #Da 7:27) qui est le « roi » de #Za 14:9 (cf. #Mt 25:31, #Mt 25:34, #Mt 25:40).
37:23
les purifierai. Ce sera possible grâce aux ressources de la nouvelle alliance (cf. #Ez 36:27, #Ez 37:14 ; #Jér 31:31-34).

11 And he said unto me, Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel. Here , they say, Our bones are dried, and our hope is lost , we are lost!
12 Therefore prophesy and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord God: Behold , I will open your graves, and I will bring you out of your graves , O my people, and I will bring you into the land of Israel.
13 And you shall know that I am the LORD , when I open your graves, and I will bring you out of your graves , O my people !
14 I will put my spirit in you, and ye shall live , and I shall place you in your country, and you will know that I the LORD have spoken and performed it, saith the LORD.
15 ¶ The word of the LORD came unto me , saying :
16 And thou, son of man, take thee one stick, and write upon it, For Judah and for the children of Israel associated with it . Then take another stick, and write upon it, For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim and all the house of Israel associated with him.
17 And join them one to another into one stick, that they may become one in your hand .
18 And when the children of thy people will tell you : Do you not tell us what that means ?
19 say to them : Thus saith the Lord GOD : Behold, I will take the stick of Joseph, which is in the hand of Ephraim , and the tribes of Israel associated with him and I with the stick of Judah , and make them one stick, and they shall be one in my hand.
20 sticks on which you write are in your hand before their eyes.
21 And say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD : Behold, I will take the children of Israel from among the heathen, whither they be gone, and will gather them on every side, and bring them into their country.
22 I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel , and they will all have the same king, they no longer be two nations , and no longer be divided into two kingdoms .
23 They shall not defile themselves any more with their idols, nor with their detestable things, nor with any of their transgressions , I will rescue them from all the places they inhabited and where they have sinned, and will cleanse them: they shall be my people, and I be their God.

37:11-13 This is the key to the interpretation of the vision : it concerned the resurrection and salvation of Israel.
37:14
I will put my Spirit in you. See note on 36:25-27 { == > " Ezekiel 36:25 "} .
I spoke and acted. It is God's reputation is at stake in the return of Israel to its land and its regeneration. God must do what he has promised so that everyone knows that is the Lord.
37:15-23 After the vision , Ezekiel was instructed to present an illustration by his countrymen object (vv. # Ez 37:18-20 ) . The union of the two sticks and staging offered a new illustration of the divine will : God will not only gather Israel to their land , but for the first time since 931 BC. BC ( end of the reign of Solomon, # 1R 11:26-40 ) , it will bring Israel and Judah (vv. # Ezekiel 37:19 , Ezekiel 37:21-22 # ) , and in the Messianic kingdom (cf. Isaiah 11:12-13 # , # Jer 3:18 ; # Os 2:2).
37:21-23 God gave three promises that summarized his plans for Israel
1 restoration (see # Ez 37:21 ) ;
2 unification (see # Ez 37:22 ) ;
3 purification (see # Ez 37:23 ) .
These promises respectively allow the performance of :
1 the Abrahamic covenant (cf. Ge # 12);
2 ° the Davidic covenant ( 2S # 7);
3 ° the new covenant ( cf. Jer # 31).
37:22
even a king. This leader ( . Cf. vv # Ez 37:24-25 ) is the Messiah, king and shepherd often promised Davidic dynasty ( Ez 34:23-24 # , # Jer 23:5-8 ; Jer 30:9 # , # Da 2:35 , # Da 2:45 ; # Da 7:13-14 , # Da 7:27 ) which is the "king" of # Za 14:9 (cf. Mt 25:31 # , # Mt 25:34 , # Mt 25:40 ) .

cleanse . This will be possible thanks to the resources of the new covenant (cf. Ez 36:27 # , # Eze 37:14 , Jer 31:31-34 # ) .
