ÉZÉKIEL 8 : 1-2-3-4-5-6 ***
1 ¶ La sixième année, le cinquième jour du sixième mois, comme j’étais assis dans ma maison, et que les anciens de Juda étaient assis devant moi, la main du Seigneur, de l’Eternel, tomba sur moi.
2 Je regardai, et voici, c’était une figure ayant l’aspect d’un homme ; depuis ses reins en bas, c’était du feu, et depuis ses reins en haut, c’était quelque chose d’éclatan...t, comme de l’airain poli.
3 Il étendit une forme de main, et me saisit par les cheveux de la tête. L’esprit m’enleva entre la terre et le ciel, et me transporta, dans des visions divines, à Jérusalem, à l’entrée de la porte intérieure, du côté du septentrion, où était l’idole de la jalousie, qui excite la jalousie de l’Eternel.
4 Et voici, la gloire du Dieu d’Israël était là, telle que je l’avais vue en vision dans la vallée.
5 Il me dit : Fils de l’homme, lève les yeux du côté du septentrion ! Je levai les yeux du côté du septentrion ; et voici, cette idole de la jalousie était au septentrion de la porte de l’autel, à l’entrée.
6 Et il me dit : Fils de l’homme, vois-tu ce qu’ils font, les grandes abominations que commet ici la maison d’Israël, pour que je m’éloigne de mon sanctuaire ? Mais tu verras encore d’autres grandes abominations.

La sixième année. C’est-à-dire en 592 av. J.-C. (cf. #Ez 1:2), en août/septembre, un an et deux mois après la première vision (#Ez 1:1).
la main du Seigneur. Elle amena le prophète à assister à une série de visions (v. #Ez 8:3) décrites jusqu’à la fin du ch. #Ez 11.
8:2
ayant l’aspect. Il vit la gloire de l’Eternel (v. #Ez 8:4) comme en #Ez 1:26-28.
8:3
visions divines. Les ch. #Ez 8:1-11:@ contiennent des détails révélés à Ezéchiel seulement, et ce dans des visions. Il voyagea à Jérusalem en esprit seulement, son corps physique restant chez lui. C’est en vision qu’il alla à Jérusalem et qu’il retourna à Babylone (#Ez 11:24). Une fois ces visions terminées, il raconta aux personnes présentes chez lui ce qu’il avait vu. Il ne s’agissait pas de faits appartenant au passé d’Israël, mais d’un survol de sa condition présente.
l’idole de la jalousie. Dieu fit voir à Ezéchiel l’image d’une idole (cf. #De 4:16) à l’entrée du parvis intérieur du temple. Elle est appelée « idole de la jalousie » parce qu’elle ne pouvait que provoquer la jalousie de Dieu (#Ez 5:13 ; #Ez 16:38 ; #Ez 36:6 ; #Ez 38:19 ; #Ex 20:5).
8:4
la gloire du Dieu. Dieu était là aussi, dans sa gloire, mais il était ignoré du peuple, bien trop occupé à adorer l’idole (v. #Ez 8:6).
8:6
pour que je m’éloigne. Le péché expulserait le peuple de sa terre, et Dieu de son sanctuaire.

1 ¶ In the sixth year , the fifth day of the sixth month , as I sat in my house , and the elders of Judah sat before me, the hand of the Lord , the LORD fell upon me .
2 I looked, and behold, it was a figure with the appearance of a man from his waist down, it was fire , and from his loins up, it was something bright , like polished brass .
3 And he put forth the form of a hand, and took me by the hair of the head. The Spirit lifted me up between earth and heaven, and brought me in visions of God to Jerusalem, to the door of the inner gate that looketh toward the north, where was the image of jealousy , which excites jealousy of the Lord .
4 And behold, the glory of the God of Israel was there , as I had seen in vision in the valley.
5 He said to me : Son of man, lift up your eyes toward the north ! I looked toward the north , and behold, this idol of jealousy northward at the gate of the altar at the entrance .
6 And he said unto me, Son of man, do you see what they are doing, the great abominations committed by the house of Israel , that I should go far off from my sanctuary ? But you will see still greater abominations .

The sixth year. That is to say, in 592 BC. BC (see # Ez 1:2) in August / September , one year and two months after the first vision (# Ez 1:1).
the Lord's hand . She brought the prophet to attend a series of visions (see # Ez 8:3 ) described until the end of ch . # 11 Ez .
8:2
having the appearance . He saw the glory of the Lord (v. # Ez 8:4 ) as # Ez 1:26-28 .

divine visions . The c. # Ezekiel 8:1-11 : @ contain only details revealed to Ezekiel , and in visions . He traveled to Jerusalem in mind only the physical body remains in him. It is vision that he went to Jerusalem, and he returned to Babylon (# Ez 11:24 ) . Once completed these visions , he told those present at what he had seen. It was not the events in the past of Israel, but an overview of its present condition.

the idol of jealousy. God gave Ezekiel see the image of an idol (see # De 4:16 ) at the entrance of the inner court of the temple. It is called " image of jealousy " because it could only provoke the jealousy of God (# Ez 5:13 ; # Ez 4:38 p.m. ; # Ez 36:6 , Ez 38:19 # , # Ex 20 : 5).
8:4
the glory of God. God was there too, in his glory, but he was ignored by the people too busy worshiping the idol (see # Ez 8:6 ) .
8:6
so I digress . Sin expel the people of his land, and God 's sanctuary.
